I got a giggle out of that too until I looked up the aircraft type.

"The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) AV-8B Harrier II is a second-generation vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) ground-attack aircraft. An Anglo-American development of the British Hawker Siddeley Harrier, the Harrier II is the final member of the Harrier family"

Fair enough. We let the Yankees use the austere version of our "Over the horizon" radar. When it comes to technology, Commonwealth countries need to give the ole USA a "leg up" now and then.

"Hey Mate. What's that 3 billion dollar rust-bucket sitting over there?"
"It's a F-35" .

(On a serious note. It was simply a mistake. No damage was caused and the American C.O. gave a full disclosure."We were attempting a practice run to bomb the Australian mainland, however......" )

The F-35.... the Detroit of combat aircraft. *sigh*
