You can tell Australian names because Australians sometimes call each other by their second name, drop the end consonants and add a new vowel.
How to call William Gibson over, in Australian
"Hey Gibos, come here for a tick" (rhymes with toes)
How call Major Malfunction over, in Australian
"Hey Mallos, come here for a tick" (rhymes with toes)
This is extended to daily activities such as eating breakfast.
