Watched a movie this evening called Particle Fever. It was great, a very good documentary on Cern, the LHC, and the Higgs. You guys can see it in a month or two, even though it's a couple years old. This was a pre-screening down in Santa Fe, and about 800 people clamored in. It was followed by a talk with one of the physicists, and the director. The movie goes into the difference between Theoretical and Experimental Physics, and a very good explanation of what the Higgs Boson actually is, and how they found it., and why they are so certain they have found it. And the difference between Supersymmetry and Multiverse theory. Highly recommended for the layperson that wants to grasp a portion of what's going on.
Edit: you can see it in theaters in a month or two, but you can apparently stream it now.
